Advanced Tantra Sadhana Immersion

Tantra Sadhana

Join us at the Akhanda Sri Jungle Ashram & Retreats

February 21 - 28, 2026

(Immediately following the 100 hr Kundalini YTT. Note: This can be taken independently or as an Add-On with the Kundalini training.)

The Tantra Sadhana Immersion is a seven-night advanced immersion designed for experienced practitioners of Kundalini Yoga who wish to enter more deeply into the practice of Classical Tantra. Held in the remote and contemplative environment of Sri Jungle Ashram, this immersion emphasizes the experiential and philosophical dimensions of traditional sadhana.

This is not an introductory course. It is a continuation of serious practice and inner inquiry.

Program Orientation

This immersion is grounded in classical frameworks of energetic transformation. Students will work with the subtle anatomy of Prana, Nadis, and Chakras, the refinement of Shakti through Kriya and Bandha, and disciplined Meditation.

Sadhana is approached not only as a personal practice but also as a method of inner cultivation and subtle purification. Morning and evening sessions will include traditional yogic techniques designed to stabilize awareness, awaken perception, and expand one’s capacity for sustained meditative presence.

Philosophical discourse will accompany the practices, offering theoretical context for the experiential processes being undertaken. Rooted in the non-dual teachings of the Vedic Adi Nath Shiv lineage.

Eligibility and Prerequisites

This immersion is intended for students who have already developed a stable and consistent Kundalini Yoga practice, including experience with Kriya, Bandha, and Breath retention. A foundational understanding of Yogic anatomy—particularly the Chakras, Prana, and Nadis—is essential, as is familiarity with the energetic dimensions of Kundalini theory.

Emotional maturity and psychological resilience are critical, given the depth of introspective and transformational work involved. Ideally, applicants will have studied with Akhanda, and many will have completed the Kundalini Yoga Program.

Participants must also be prepared to engage in the simplicity and discipline of traditional Ashram life. This includes periods of silence, basic living conditions, and a willingness to take full responsibility for one’s process. The immersion is not suitable for those new to yoga or for those seeking casual exposure to spiritual practice.

Pedagogical Structure

This immersion is structured around experiential learning rather than theoretical instruction alone. Sadhana is the foundation. Morning and evening sessions will include mantra recitation, kriya, pranayama, and meditative concentration practices (dharana), allowing students to stabilize energy and refine their inner awareness.

Advanced techniques involving bandha, mudra, and kumbhaka (breath retention) will be explored progressively. These methods are approached within a framework of yogic safety and with continual emphasis on grounding and integration.

Daily teachings will explore Tantric philosophy through the lens of the Adi Nath Shiv tradition, offering a conceptual understanding of inner practice that complements the experiential components. Topics such as the movement of Shakti and the purpose of inner fire (tapas) will be explored.

Agni Hotra, or sacred fire ritual, will be performed daily. This practice serves as a ritualized offering and a method of internal purification. Structured periods of silence (mouna) will be observed to encourage inward turning and self-reflection, while occasional group circles will offer space for integration and the articulation of personal insights.

The Immersion Environment

Akhanda Sri Jungle Ashram is situated in a remote area of the Himalayan foothills. Surrounded by dense forest and far from the distractions of urban life, it offers a rare opportunity for focused inner work. The ashram environment is intentionally simple. Basic facilities and minimal technological access allow for deep inward focus, and the natural setting supports a direct relationship with the elemental forces that Classical Tantra reveres and works with.

Living in this environment is part of the immersion. Simplicity, discipline, and rhythm become tools for sadhana. Through this container, students are supported in cultivating a sattvic inner state and sustained awareness.

Intended Outcomes

Students who complete this immersion will have gained direct experience of Classical Tantra as a spiritual discipline rooted in embodied practice. They will have strengthened their capacity for energetic awareness and developed the inner steadiness required to work with transformational energy.

In addition to technical refinement, participants will leave with increased clarity about their personal path of practice, greater confidence in navigating subtle experience, and a deeper integration of Yogic principles into daily life.

This is not a certification. There are no tests or evaluations. The focus is on consistent presence, sincere engagement, and the gradual unfolding of insight through direct experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How many students will be in each training cohort?

Our cohorts are intentionally kept intimate, typically ranging between 18 to 30 students depending on what is happening at the Retreat CentersNote that we can host up to 75 students. We prioritize our student to teacher ratio to allow for personalized attention, a strong sense of community, and a deep connection with the faculty and the teachings.

2. What level of yoga experience is required to attend?

You must have completed a Kundalini training with Akhanda or be a sincere Kundalini practitioner to join.

3. Is there a final exam, practicum, or teaching requirement to receive certification?

No, this is not a training program.

4. Do I need to bring my own yoga mat and props?

You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat. While mats and some props are available on site, they are well-used, and many students prefer the comfort of their own. Blocks and straps are limited, so bring your own if you rely on them in your practice.

5. What happens if my flight is delayed and I miss the 9:45 AM arrival?

Please notify us immediately. We will do our best to help arrange private transportation to the Jungle Ashram at an additional cost.

6. Can I book additional nights at the Retreat before or after the training?

Yes. Extra nights may be available, subject to availability. Please email retreats@akhandayoga.com to request accommodation and coordinate logistics.

7. How do I coordinate transportation from the airport to Rishikesh?

We recommend flying into Delhi or Dehradun.

Our team can help arrange transportation from either location to the Anand Prakash Ashram in Rishikesh for an additional fee. To schedule this, contact retreats@akhandayoga.com.

8. Are there laundry facilities available at the ashram?

Yes. Basic laundry services are available on site for a modest fee. You may also choose to hand wash smaller items during your stay.

9. Are phones and devices allowed during the training?

Yes, but we encourage intentional use. Wi-Fi is limited, especially at the Jungle Ashram, and this immersion is a valuable opportunity to disconnect from distractions and reconnect with yourself. Students often find great benefit in reducing screen time.

10. Will I have access to medical care if needed during the training?

Yes. We have access to trusted medical clinics and emergency support in Rishikesh. In the event of illness or injury, staff will assist you in receiving appropriate care.

11. What kind of dietary accommodations are available?

All meals are sattvic, vegetarian, and light. We can accommodate vegan diets and some mild food sensitivities, but this is a traditional Ashram kitchen, and we cannot guarantee accommodations for complex allergies. Please email us if you have specific concerns.

12. What is the daily expectation for personal study or homework?

The environment is designed to support integration—not overwhelm—so your personal study time is meaningful and manageable.

13. Is the environment safe for solo travelers—especially women?

Absolutely. Many of our students are solo female travelers, and the ashram is a safe, supportive, and sacred space. Our team is experienced in holding a nurturing container, and Rishikesh itself is a spiritually-centered and welcoming town.

14. Is the room + board donation mandatory?

This amount is a suggested respectful donation to cover your room and board. While it is strongly encouraged, if cost is a concern, we invite you to reach out to discuss your situation. We are committed to making this training accessible to sincere students.

15. If something unexpected happens, can I transfer to the next training date?

You are able to transfer your tuition payments for two years. Please reach out as early as possible if you need to adjust your plans.

16. Are scholarships or financial aid available?
