- Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu

A Soul’s Journey Begins

Born in the Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, into a family rooted in service, Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu is the son of a renowned Ayurvedic doctor and Karma Yogi, who – alongside his mother – served the community with Ayurvedic wisdom and accessible, affordable care. This early environment of collective wellbeing infused him with a deep sense of soul purpose, legacy, and collective healing.

By ages 4 to 6, as a quiet and contemplative child, Yogrishi was already drawn towards Yoga Sadhana — practicing Likitha Japa and disappearing into neighbouring village temples in search of spiritual vibration. So often, in fact, that his family had to concede it was no ordinary childhood curiosity. At just 8 years old, the young Yogrishi insisted on being sent to Kanvashram Gurukul, a sacred and historically significant centre of Vedic and Yogic learning, where he spent his formative years absorbing the Himalayan Yogic, Vedic, Ayurvedic, and Tantric traditions.

Spiritual & Academic Deepening

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he advanced through traditional and tertiary education while deepening his Yogic Sadhana and lived wisdom. It was during this period that he met his Guru, Baba Premnath, and was formally initiated into the Adi Nath Shiva lineage by esteemed Nath Yogis, who imparted carefully preserved practices and meditative disciplines to his journey. He was guided by numerous esteemed teachers, Sadhus and Yogis, further expanding his vast knowledge and perspectives.

Simultaneously, he pursued formal education — completing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Yoga and Sports Sciences (CCS-HAU), earning recognition as a University and National Gold Medalist in Yoga. He went on to complete a Ph.D. in Yoga from the esteemed Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar.

An Intuitive Vision for a Global Yogic Family

After numerous academic and material accomplishments, his Guru gave him a cryptic message:
“You will not get a job. You will give jobs.”
This initially puzzled the devoted student, but as he moved deeper into his Sadhana, the meaning became clear. During meditative visions, he conceived of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" — a global movement where Yoga was not just a practice of physical flexibility, but a holistic path with a global family united through Yoga, self-healing, and collective wellbeing.

This marked the beginning of his spiritual ambassadorship, birthing the concept of World Conscious Yoga Family, bringing India’s ancient Yogic wisdom to global practitioners.

Pioneering Yoga Systems: The Why Behind the Wisdom

As he travelled the world, he observed growing distortions in how Yoga was being shared — from commodified branding to disconnection from its original purpose. Even well-meaning teachers were often unknowingly reshaping traditions incorrectly.

He was called to respond — reviving Yoga Chikitsa and Yajna Chikitsa as ancient, powerful systems of conscious self-healing, purification, and personal evolution.

With profound respect for tradition and unwavering clarity of purpose, he founded the globally renowned Akhanda Yoga Institute to train teachers in authentic Yogic toolkits — integrating traditional practices such as Agni Hotra into the daily rhythm of all trainings and life at his Ashrams and retreat centres.

He also pioneered and developed the following authentic, accessible Yogic systems:

Classical Kundalini Yoga (2002)

Why: To reclaim the Kundalini tradition from distortion, sensationalism, and fear-based misuse.
Innovation: Grounded in Vedic and Tantric scripture, sequenced for safe, progressive, trauma-informed energy awakening.
Impact: Brought reverence, rigor, and responsibility back to Kundalini Yoga. Today it is taught safely worldwide.

Akhanda Yoga (2000)

Why: To restore Yoga as a complete system — not fragmented into fitness or mental-health-only formats.
Innovation: Akhanda means whole and indivisible. Every class integrates Shatkarma, Asana, Pranayama, Mantra, Mudra, Philosophy, and Meditation.
Impact: Empowered thousands to live a sustainable daily practice nourishing all layers of being — physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

Hatha-Raja Yoga (2003)

Why: To reconnect purification and preparation (Hatha) with meditative stillness (Raja), using the powerful Bhramari Pranayama for all layers of wellbeing.
Innovation: Pioneered use of Bhramari Pranayama in tailored Asana sequences to release chronic stress and subconscious programming, and deepen meditative potential.
Impact: Elevated the role of traditional Pranayama in Asana practices, with focused use for trauma-informed emotional release and subtle energy healing.

Five Koshas Style (2004)

Why: To provide an embodied approach to Yogic anatomy and the multiple layers of existence for modern Yoga students.
Innovation: Sequences designed to target all five Koshas in a single class — from the physical to the bliss body.
Impact: Now the concepts of Yogic anatomy are required to be addressed in Yoga Alliance U.S.-based international teacher training curriculums.

Inner Reprogramming (2006)

Why: To support physical, mental, emotional, and karmic self-healing, in accessible ways regardless of experience level or background.
Innovation: Combines Sankalpa, conscious breath-synchronized Asana, Pranayama, Mantra, and deep focus to dissolve imprints and reprogramme existing pathways.
Impact: Pioneered trauma-sensitive Yoga accessible to all, regardless of experience or body type.

Akhanda Yoga Nidra & Meditation (1998, formalized later)

Why: To connect to the powerful potential of transcendental rest and soul-based intention setting (Sankalpa), accessible to all for self-healing and spiritual expansion.
Innovation: A gentle, multi-stage guided practice rooted in classical Yoga Nidra, fused with Yogic techniques to activate both hemispheres of the brain and the third eye — powerful for releasing stress and programming at the cellular level.
Impact: Has supported thousands in mental health management, trauma and ancestral healing, and spiritual connection. Widely used by teachers to support holistic Yoga therapy.
