In this 300 hour Akhanda Yoga Teacher Training you will learn to teach advanced, artful, balanced sequences including a full repertoire of Yoga techniques: asana, pranayama, mantra and meditation linked with themes to Yogic wisdom.

You will engage more deeply with advanced teaching techniques and in-depth assists, alongside the Yogic wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, Samkhya philosophy, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and other key Hatha Yoga texts. 

Explore traditional concepts of Ayurveda, as well as the Yogic anatomy of Koshas, Chakras, and Prana while connecting with a worldwide community of passionate and dedicated Yoga teachers.

Turning into an advanced Yoga Teacher encompasses the experience of creating a steady practice for yourself to create the stability and safe container for your students.

This 5-week transformative immersion in the Himalayan foothills is made of interactive philosophy sessions and the authentic understanding of key wisdom texts such as the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita and Traditional texts of Hatha Yoga and Tantra. You will also explore Ayurveda and go deeper into how to balance the dosha types through the whole repertoire of yoga techniques, diet, lifestyle choices and how this relates to the 24 tattvas of Samkhya tradition. 

Explore anatomy, physiology and the nervous system how they relate to Yoga postures, breathing techniques and cleansing. Walk away confidently teaching a very broad range of techniques and styles to people of all ages and physical abilities in alignment with the authentic origins of the practice.

Advanced Asana Techniques & Assists

In your technique’s classes, you will learn a variety of intermediate to advanced asana techniques to complement those taught during YTT 200. You will gain greater skill in working with diverse student bodies using props and focused assists and hands on adjustments.

Pranayama Sequencing and Kriyas

We will explore further use of the bandhas for breath retention and a variety of cleansing kriyas, such as Jal Kapalabhati and Sutra Neti (optional).

Dive Deeper into Philosophy and Key Yogic texts

In the embodied philosophy sessions, you will be guided in authentically exploring Yogic wisdom in context through key concepts from the Bhagavad Gita, Samkhya philosophy, Hatha Yoga Pradipika and other Hatha Yoga texts.

A Variety of Styles

You will explore several styles of teaching including the unique Hatha Raja and 5 Koshas styles, and more advanced techniques for supporting, assisting, and aligning students with the Asana element of the practice.

The Business of Yoga

In The Business of Yoga sessions, you will explore teaching methodology, learn to honour the cultural legacy of Yoga, create tools to support your ongoing teaching offerings and learn to design workshops. We will also explore the ethics of the yoga teaching profession.

Dive into all aspects of yoga with our invigorating morning yoga class.

7:45 AM - 8:30 AM: Fire Puja
A sacred ritual to start the day, honoring the wellbeing within and around us.

8:45 AM: Breakfast
Nourish your body with a wholesome breakfast.

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Session A
Engage in enlightening discussions and teachings during Session A.

11:15 AM - 12:15 PM: Session B
Continue your exploration of yoga philosophy and practices in Session B.

12:30 PM: Lunch
Recharge with a delicious and nutritious lunch.

1:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Personal Time
Take some time for self-reflection and relaxation.

2:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Session C
Dive deeper into your yoga journey in Session C.

4:15 PM - 6:15 PM: Session D
Expand your knowledge and experience with Session D.

6:30 PM - 7:15 PM: Dinner
Enjoy a peaceful dinner as the day winds down.

7:15 PM - 8:15 PM (Tuesdays and Thursdays): Kirtan
On select evenings, join us for the soul-stirring practice of Kirtan.

8:30 PM - 9:30 PM: Silent Studying or Journaling
Reflect on your learnings and experiences in silence or through journaling.

Saturdays:
Expect a varied schedule that may include morning sessions, or exciting excursion up until lunch time. After that is free time.

Sundays: Free time.

When will the next cohort begin?

This Akhanda Yoga Advanced YTT300 will be available as an immersive training experience in Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram starting 5th November 2023 and ending on 9th December 2023.

What do I need to enroll?

This course is open to all yoga teachers who have previously completed a 200hr YTT with a Yoga Alliance credited institution. An entry assignment will be required from teachers who have not trained with Akhanda Yoga before. An online prep course will also support your ashram immersion.

Will I receive Yoga Alliance Certification?

A Yoga Alliance Certification will be issued upon completion of all course requirements. 

What kind of support will I have access to after the course ends?

Teacher trainees are able to stay connected on their learning platform with their cohort, expert teachers and Yogrishi Vishvketu after their course completion.
