Food plays an essential role in supporting the body through the seasons and stresses of everyday life. Vishva ji recommends a plant-based, whole foods diet, rich in a variety of organic vegetables, legumes, nuts, rice and grains. Shifting from an animal based diet to a vegetarian diet integrates the yogic practice of ahimsa (non-violence) into the practitioner’s life, so that they are living their practice with each meal.

A vegetarian diet does not need to feel restrictive and can include delicious treats such as Vishva ji’s latest creation:

Vishva ji’s Favorite Protein Bars


*Best to use organic ingredients, however honour your budget in making these delicious treats!

1 cup of raw almonds
1 cup of raw cashews
1 cup of coconut powder
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
½ teaspoon of cardamom powder
Use dates or maple syrup as a sweetener


Grind almonds and cashews and mix all ingredients together.
Place paste onto parchment paper and roll out until about half an inch thick. You can make it thicker if you prefer.
Place in dehydrator until it firms up, then cut into pieces.
Store in fridge.
