In 2011, Omkar was looking for a new Yoga teacher. He tried many classes, but they never seemed quite right, until he came upon an Akhanda Yoga class. With Akhanda Yoga, Omkar has completed 200 hour YTT, 300 hour YTT, and 100 hour Lunar Yin Yoga.
His Yoga journey began with five years of practice in Iyengar Yoga, which was followed by investigations into Synergy Yoga (Simon Borg Oliver) and Shadow Yoga (Shandor Remete). He studied Mahayana Buddhism under venerable Geshe Doga at Tara Institute in Melbourne and his meditation practice has also been further deepened through 10-day Vipassana retreats. Today, his primary areas of interest are Pranayama, mantra and meditation.
Omkar says: “My lasting impression of Akhanda Yoga is authenticity. It is set apart by a holistic approach embracing all the limbs of Yoga. This is a practice that continues to deepen and expand my understanding of self.”
